Good advice. I'm having problems with the Mazda UU8 full wave rectifier valve which is used in many post-war Murphy and Pye TVs. The answer is to make a replacement solid state unit comprising of two silicon diodes and two surge resistors. These can be mounted on a Mazda Octal valve base.
Worth a visit from time to time is the ebay.com USA website. '60s color TVs do turn up occasionally.
The earlier 50s sets are becoming increasingly rare and expensive. http://www.ebay.com/sch/Television-Sets ... html?rt=nc
I'll post up more pictures of the CTC7 very soon. The 110 volt transformer is buried somewhere upstairs.
