Hi Bob,

Well I can't think of many colour sets over here that will be celebrating a 'ruby' anniversary so based on that rather flimsy thought of mine I'll place a vote for Till's Pye 405. :)

As you can see, I've turned the thread into a poll, so... faites vos jeux, ladies and gentlemen :qq1

Is this clear enough for you? It's at the top of the thread, where polls usually live.

Ah yes, I seethat now, it's Bobs very first message that completely threw me.. and I still cant make any sense of that, I think it's the three fours.

Right, I'll go munch one of Mishka's dementure tablets, the peppermint ones.

The way the poll is going I don't think there'll be any need for a casting vote...

The mystery set is a dual standard hybrid and it's not a G6.

It's not a Bush CTV25. A clue: like the early Bush CTV25 it also uses the GY501 and PD500 stabiliser valve.

Is it an Ekco CT102 or CT104?

I'll think you are so close I'll tell you the exact model. It's the Ekco CT103.

Ah, I was misled by this article in Radio and Electrical Retailing July 1969 which claims the CT103 was a single-standard receiver:

I've got the model type wrong. It can't be a CT103 because you've confirmed that is the 19" model. So it's likely to be the CT101? or CT102. Does not have cabinet doors. The set has the same type of tuner as the Pye CT70, that is the one with the square buttons.

Sounds like the CT104, with green tube surround? (As far as I know there was no CT100 or CT101).

The CT100 was the experimental set which employed a round 21" CRT. Started off as a 405 receiver and later on modified to NTSC 625 and finally 625PAL.

Ah, it was considerate of Ekco's new owners to maintain the numbering sequence after such a long absence. The numbers also suggest they intended to release the 19" set much earlier than when it eventually appeared.

I thought the CT102 had doors, as per the one on Mikey 405's website?
