Nice one Chris, good to have another join the colour club, slowly but surely we convert you all :aah

For you it had to be a PYE didn't it :thumb The full PYE service manual for this chassis can be found in the data library. Not forgetting the additional and superb decoder diagnostics guide, with this chassis you're going to need it :qq1

Also don't forget all the stock faults for early colour are also available from the main site top menu "stock faults", including PYE. Then there's Les Lawry-Johns article called "Hot Pyes" which is available from the menu "Service" | "CTV service tips".

Here's what it looked like new in 1972....... you want to keep any eye out for a stand now, unless it came with one.

Nice that the veneer hasn't chipped off the front either. With a bit of care and careful setting up, the fact that the CRT's a good 'un means you'll get good performance out of it.

Good luck,

Tas

Had to take a look inside the curiosity was getting the better of me
The set looks tidy for its age , the cda panel looks ok no sign of burning
The timebase panel looks ok too but someone has removed one of the edge connectors
& soldered the wires to the board
Don't know if I can get an edge connector to replace it , it may have to stay as it is
The set date stamp on this one is Feb 1974 so I presume this is a later set
Didn't the 725 series come out in 1975 ish?
All in all looks good , can't wait to get started but have another PYE on the go 170 series

Cheers
Chris
