Does anyone recognise this LOPT?

Post by sideband » Wed Sep 23, 2015 9:16 pm

Working my way through boxes of stuff, I came across this rather nice LOPT. Presumably monochrome (or B/W if you prefer) doesn't look meaty enough for colour. It has a definite continental look about it so could be Telefunken, Grundig, ITT..... :aab

So what does the team think?

Not sure if the number on top means anything...?

Initially thought it might be manufactured by Weyrad, usually found in Decca sets.

However I think it is continental as the part number begins with FM...

Probably ITT/Nokia/Luxor/Salora camp. Looks suspiciously like an Ipsalo transformer.

That did cross my mind. I thought they were bigger though.

Ah it does appear to be used in the Salora 1H9 chassis with small screen A51-590X tube. Uses a hybrid module in the power supply. Transformer type is shown as FM0245A with the following connections

winding 'a' pins 1 and 2
winding 'b' pins 17 and 18
winding 'c' pins 13 and 14
winding 'd' pins 12, 5(?) and 15(?)
winding 'e' pins 7(?) and 11
winding 'f' pins 9 and 10
winding 'g' pins 8 and EHT connector

Thanks for that info....now I know what set it's used in, I'll offer it for cost of postage in the Sale or Swap section.
