Identifying KB Rhapsody radios

Post by crackle » Tue Sep 15, 2015 1:08 pm

Hi
I was for some time confused with the proliferation of different kinds of Kolster Brandes Rhapsody models. They don't always have a label on to identify them. Also I believe there are some around where a different chassis has been fitted in the wrong case, e.g. a "De Luxe" cabinet has had a standard chassis fitted. No real problem here as they are often the same chassis but if the label is still on you may get confused if the chassis label of a De luxe model is claiming it is a standard model.

Anyway it seems that I am not the only one who has been confused, as KB issued a note in their Service Bulletin from 1964 to their service agents which describes the differences between the models.

I thought others here may find this useful as well.
Mike
