It might be worth Googling the problem to see if anybody has found a way round it.
We've got a Canon Lide 60 scanner which works fine with my W7 laptop but Canon don't provide a W8 driver, so it won't work with Helen's slightly newer machine.
With the move to W10 being imminent, it looked as if the elderly Xp machine upstairs would be the only way of using it but I came across a workaround for W8 recently which works with even older Canon scanners. I haven't tried it on Helen's machine yet but, if it works, it may also be applicable to W10 too.
Whether this will help you to get your PC to talk to your printer or not, I don't know, as
Microsoft have announced that there will be no W11, which makes your machine somewhat unique, which means technical support will be rather thin on the ground!
