Ratings of Strowger type heat coils

Post by Brianc » Tue Nov 24, 2015 12:30 pm

Does anyone know the ratings of the various colours of heat coils? There are Green ones on ebay but the ones I am looking for are Brown! What's the difference between them?

Hi Brian,

See below: Brown 0.6 amp.
I would guess that the type refered to in the bottom paragraph is the green one.
(I think I got that info from Jac.)

Thanks for that Peter. It looks as though the green ones, if they are the ones referred to, should be OK. What's .05A between friends, especially as it is in the safer direction. I shall order some.

Looking at the Marconi 706/707 manual, these use a yellow heat coil 16705B rated at 1.6 amps.
