Lost/Missing Sitcoms

Post by CTV » Thu Aug 04, 2016 7:20 pm

I don't watch broadcast TV, haven't done so for a few years now. However that might change as the BBC are re-shooting episodes of post-war sitcoms of which no recordings survive, as they are missing from its archives.

Let's hope 'they' don't make a lash up of it.. So many remakes of old films, and in some cases, TV shows, have come along and flown like lead balloons.

Only time will tell, and what then? Will we see a continuation of these series? Or will it all fizzle out after one short run.. One thing I am curious about, is how do they plan to get around "Alf Garnett's" let's say, less than PC outbursts?

Reading this I get the feeling it will be one episode from each sitcom.

They've been doing this on Radio 4 already - I listened to a 'lost' Hancock last week.
